Arlene Morgan was born in Scotland and moved to the USA in 1997, lived in California for 25 years. She is a registered nurse by trade and spent 28 years making patients feel comfortable. Her thoughts: "Stepping out of a comfort zone is intimidating, but not impossible."
She moved to Tullahoma in 2022 because Tennessee is very similar geographically to Scotland and that was part of her decision to settle here like her Celtic ancestors.
Fun fact: She has a farm and delights in looking after her land and animals.
She started Arlycrafts back in 2014 ( officially) and has enjoyed creating thousands of items over the years from materials such as wood, acrylics and fabrics. She taught herself how to use digital software to create original designs for her pieces as well as using other designers work. (She is quite proud of that process because she wasn’t the most technical person.)
Settling into being primarily a maker that uses a laser and power tools makes her feel skilled and confident. She let her creativity flow whilst sanding and staining lovely woodgrain and creating memories for customers with her custom pieces.
During her half century on this earth she has tried more crafts and activities than she has fingers and toes. From crochet to rug making, pottery to laser beams, getting her sewing machine tangled in threads and coughing from the epoxy fumes.
Her one true love is her laser machine. It allows her to be very artistic whilst creating digital art files and watching as it comes together.
Pictured here are some of her crafts located at HandmadeTN in Tullahoma, TN
These are just a few of Arlycraft’s awesome artsy brilliance.
